Fred Geldon is Of Counsel at Foundation Law Group LLP.

He advises and represents clients concerning a wide spectrum of government contract matters, including ethics and compliance, organizational conflicts of interest, cybersecurity, contract and subcontract interpretation, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory requirements, bid protests, and claims and disputes.

Before joining Foundation Law Group LLP,  Fred was Senior Counsel at Steptoe LLP, where he led the due diligence and negotiation efforts in the government contracts “swim lane” in several billion dollar corporate mergers/acquisitions.

Prior to his time at Steptoe Fred spent 21 years at Electronic Data Systems, where he managed the Contracts and Legal Division (a team of 40 lawyers and contract administrators supporting EDS’ government business) and worked closely with business and contract teams in all aspects of the information technology services and products government marketplace.

Fred started his career as a law clerk to the Hon. William B. Bryant, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, was a partner at Leva, Hawes, Symington, Martin & Oppenheimer, and served as an Assistant Director in the Torts Brach of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Fred is a founding member, director, and instructor at the Public Contracting Institute, where he teaches various courses in government contracts law, including, Fundamentals of Government Contracting and Government Contract Administration, Compliance and Organizational Conflicts of Interest, Navigating the Federal Acquisition Regulation (and the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul), and Subcontracting. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University and has lectured in government contracts programs at the George Washington University National Law Center, ESI International, Federal Publications Inc., the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, the National Contract Management Association, the American Corporate Counsel Association, Federal Systems Summit, the GSA Trail Boss Program, Centre Consulting, and the Grant Thornton Government Contractor Roundtable.

Fred also sings with the Fairfax Jubil-Aires barbershop chorus and Men In Stripes barbershop quartet, and loves to play with his two grandsons (ages 7 and 9).

Fred received his Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from Harvard Law School. He holds an A.B. degree (magna cum laude) from Princeton University and a Masters Degree in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland, and is an inactive member of the California bar.
