He is a member of the Armenian Bar Association, the LA County Bar Association and the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.

He has published numerous trademark articles in Valley Lawyer Magazine. Sevag was named a Rising Star from 2015-2018 and a Super Lawyer from 2022-2025 by Super Lawyers magazine. Over the course of his career, he has successfully prosecuted over 1,200 trademarks worldwide.

Prior to joining Foundation Law Group, Sevag worked for Viacom and the Disney-ABC Television Group, handling their intellectual property (IP) matters and licensing agreements. He was also an associate at a litigation firm in Century City, and at a boutique IP law firm in Westlake Village, working on patent, trademark and copyright prosecution, and IP litigation.

In 2013, Sevag joined Foundation Law Group, LLP, specializing in helping start-ups nationwide with their IP, technology, and contractual issues, as well as aggressively litigating their IP matters and business disputes. Sevag’s daily practice includes registering trademarks, sending cease-and-desist notices, and filing lawsuits in Federal Court to protect his client’s IP rights.

Sevag’s recent notable matters include the following:

  • Successfully defended a small business client’s trademark usage against accusations of infringement by a large multinational corporation.
  • Represented an independent artist in a case against a major record label, where his oral arguments before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals led to the reinstatement of the client’s canceled trademark registration.
  • Achieved a favorable outcome for a client by filing a declaratory relief action in federal court to safeguard their trademark use after receiving a demand letter.
  • Filed for a preliminary injunction to prevent ongoing sales of products by a competitor which infringed client’s patent.
  • Commandeered infringing domain URLs for his clients through WIPO’s UDRP proceedings. Also forcefully opposed such claims, with the opposing side recently withdrawing their complaint knowing they would lose and be liable for reverse domain name hijacking, completely vindicating his client against its litigious competitor.
